Agri-environment scheme
The HS2 London-West Midlands Environmental Statement published by the Department for Transport in November 2013, defines an ‘agri-environment scheme’ as: ‘A mechanism by which landowners and other individuals and bodies responsible for land management can be incentivised to manage their land in a manner sympathetic to the environment.
Water for life and livelihoods, River basin management plans, Glossary, Published by the Environment Agency in 2016, defines the agri-environment scheme as a: ‘Land management scheme that provides funding to farmers and other land managers in England to deliver effective environmental management on their land.’
